A few months ago, the spread of the COVID-19 global pandemic disrupted life as we knew and set us on a new path where our resilience and resourcefulness were put to the test. In a united effort, the JA Worlwide network launched its #KeepLearning initiative to support and encourage ongoing youth empowerment and learning despite challenges presented by the disruption.
THE “BOEING BUSINESS CHALLENGE” ENGAGES INJAZ YOUTH IN THE SECOND VIRTUAL REGIONAL I-CAMP IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BOEING
INJAZ Al-Arab, in partnership with Boeing, engaged youth from 13 member nations in the “Boeing Business Challenge” virtual regional I-Camp on June 28th, 2020. Youth worked in teams to answer questions that could realize the innovative idea of “Drone Delivery” to homes and look at the business and implementation elements that need to be considered.
SHAIKHA HANADI BINT NASER AL THANI INDUCTED IN THE GLOBAL BUSINESS HALL OF FAME
Sheikha Hanadi Al Thani, a Qatari business leader and Chairperson of INJAZ Al-Arab, has been inducted by JA Global Business Hall of Fame as the 2020 Laureate for the leader category. An entrepreneur at heart, influential investor, a role model for young entrepreneurs across the MENA region and a mother to three beautiful children was able to create businesses, thrive economies and inspire a generation to follow their aspirations and create their own futures.
ROC organized a 2-days online retreat with the CEOs from NA countries. This retreat comes in a time where INJAZ Al-Arab and JAWW have set a plan to expand their presence in the North African region. During the retreat vital topics where tackled and discussed thoroughly; LMS Hub for North African countries, capacity building and training support for NA teams, fundraising and partnerships and board engagement and governance.

INJAZ AL-ARAB JOINS SAP IN DIGITAL SKILLS FOR TODAY INCLUSION INITIATIVE
As a key partner for SAP in the Digital Skills for Today initiative, INJAZ Al-Arab, represented by president and CEO Akef Aqrabawi, was part of an online talk titled: “Can tolerance give a new definition of development?”. The virtual format engaged online audience with the speakers who were experts looking at the subject from different angles. The other speakers included, Hugh Boseley CEO of RBK, Mercello Bonatto, Co-founder of re:coded, Shaden Khallaf, Senior Policy Officer, UNHCR's MENA Bureau, Veronica Rossini, Director of Communications, Tent Partnership for Refugees, and Nona Zicherman, Deputy Representative, UNICEF Turkey. Hosted by Batoul Husseini, Director of Digital Government & Corporate Social Responsibility Lead at SAP MENA, the talk was one of the last activities SAP MENA and Digital Skills for Today engaged audiences in as part of World Refugee Month in June, where they raised awareness of the Digital Skills for Today initiative and need for economic empowerment that includes all members of our communities.

HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL ALUMNI CLUB (GCC) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH INJAZ AL-ARAB ORGANIZE ONLINE CONVERSATION WITH NOBEL PEACE PRIZE-WINNER MUHAMMAD YUNUS
INJAZ Al-Arab in partnership with Harvard Business School (HBS) Alumni Club of the GCC and Harvard Business School, organized a conversation with Nobel Peace Prize-winner Muhammad Yunus based on his op-ed, "Post COVID-19 world has limitless opportunities to make a fresh start." Via Zoom, Professor Yunus discussed his views on the post-COVID-19 economy and his vision of social businesses created solely for people’s benefits. The HBS Majlis (or Council) is a series of bi-monthly digital events with prominent figures. Thanks to this partnership, the series has been introduced to a wider audience across 13 markets from the JA/INJAZ network. The event was live-streamed and can be watched on Facebook.
